Bangladeshi actress Mahiya Mahi has married a businessman of Sylhet in a private ceremony on Tuesday.
She married Mahmud Pervez Opu at her Uttara residence in Dhaka last night after their engagement on May 12. The reception will be in Sylhet on July 24.
Mahi described Opu as a pure hearted man.
“I am lucky to have him. I wanted to make a home with a simple and ordinary man, and Allah has granted my wish.”
The couple knew each other for four years before they got married.
Regarding her career post-marriage, Mahi said she wants to focus on her marriage now and thus won’t be working in more than one or two movies each year.
