Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said his party did not propose any name for the search committee on forming the new Election Commission.

Quader, also the road transport and bridges’ minister, came up with the remark after signing a deal at a hotel in Dhaka, reports the state-run news agency BSS.

Only the president will decide on who will be included in the committee as it is solely his authority, Quader said adding “We neither expected any one from our party to be included in the search committee, nor we had suggested any name.”
