Finance Minister AMA Muhith says he hopes Bangladesh’s growth rate will remain above 7% in coming years.
“At least we have achieved 7% GDP growth in the middle of this year,” he told reporters on Wednesday.
“Every sector has to perform well when the country’s growth rate reaches 7%,” Muhith said, adding that he had attributed due credit to all sectors.
Bangladesh recorded a growth rate of above 7% for the first time. According to the provisional estimate of Bangladesh Bureau of Statistic (BBS), taking nine months economic growth into account, the growth will stand at 7.05% for the 2015-16 fiscal.
“We have major contribution from the power sector, followed by the agriculture sector for latest estimated growth rate,” Muhith added.
