The services of Dhaka-Rajshahi non-stop intercity train Bonolata Express would be extended to Chapainawabganj, Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan said today.
“People of Chapainawabganj have been demanding direct intercity train from Chapainawabganj for long. So, the government has decided to extend the service of the intercity train as per people’s demands,” the minister said.
The railway minister was addressing a rally at Chapainawabganj Railway Station after visiting the station today, reports our local correspondent.
The train service might be opened on July 25, before Eid-ul-Azha, for extending its services to Chapainawabganj, he said.
With an aim to boost rail connectivity with the northern districts, Bonolota Express, a non-stop intercity train service on Dhaka-Rajshahi route, started its operation on April 25.
