No raid on highway without specific complaint: IGP

Inspector General of Bangladesh Police AKM Shahidul Hoque today urged the law enforcers not to stop any vehicle on the highway in the name of raid without specific complaint.

He made the directives at a meeting at the Police Headquarters in Dhaka this noon, said a press release of the police headquarters.

The police chief also asked the policemen to ensure special security ahead of upcoming holy month of Ramadan and the Eid-ul-Fitr.

He also urged his fellows to combat all forms of extortion during the period.

Among others, Additional IGPs Mohammad Mukhlesur Rahman, Sheikh Himayet Hossain, Abul Kashem, Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner M Asaduzzaman Miah and other high officials attended the meeting.
